Growing and Living

If you are not growing, are you living?  We watch our children grow.  We enjoy the bloom of a rose. When we are young, we are growing taller. Of course, physically no matter what our age, we are all growing in the sense that we are growing older.

We also grow spiritually.  We start when we are young with certain beliefs and our beliefs are modified as we mature and are able to understand more about the world around us.

But do we stop growing spiritually?  Do we reach the point where we think we have all of the answers or we know where are the answers are? If we reach that point, we allow our ego to completely control us.  We stop growing; we become more dogmatic, convinced that the "truth" we have is the absolute truth.

The rose no longer blooms.
